Paul Goldman’s outback tent boxing film is a powerful drama.

Western Australia 1971, the sun is burning, and Kid Snow (Billy Howle) has a chance to redeem himself, but there’s also the presence of single mother Sunny (Phoebe Tonkin) to consider in this tale of family, friendship, loss and potential redemption, all set against a background of fighting, sweat, canvas and sand.

The cast – including Tom Bateman, Hunter Page-Lochard, Mark Coles-Smith, and Nathan Philips – all deliver perfectly pitched performances.

Kid Snow has the raw and visceral quality you would expect from the subject matter and you can smell the sweat and feel the heat.

This is the kind of movie that you can feel and Goldman (Suburban Mayhem, Australian Rules) is a natural for the material.

Shot on location in Kalgoorlie and Fremantle, Western Australia.
