
A producer and writer whose credits span narrative features, documentaries, and digital series, Melanie started her career working as a field producer for networks such as NBC, HBO, and Discovery Channel Canada.
Her films have screened internationally at festivals including Tribeca, SXSW, BFI London, Palm Springs International, Melbourne International, and Warsaw International. Her latest feature, Yesterday Island, won the Audience Award at the 2025 Austin Film Festival. Her feature King of Peking sold worldwide to Netflix, while Red Light Revolution received a theatrical release in the UK and Canada and secured a national streaming deal in China. She also served as Executive Director of the China Hollywood Society Los Angeles branch, holds an MFA from the Peter Stark Producing program at USC, and currently teaches film producing at JMC Academy Melbourne.
