Dennis Tupicoff

Since the animated PLEASE DON’T BURY ME in 1976, Dennis has made many films as writer, director, producer, and designer/animator. These have been fictional and documentary, animated and live-action, comedy and drama, and often inventive combinations. His animated films include: DANCE OF DEATH (1983), THE DARRA DOGS (1993), HIS MOTHER’S VOICE (1997), INTO THE DARK (2001), CHAINSAW (2007),  A PHOTO OF ME (2017), STILL ALIVE (2018), THE RIVER (2020), THE ONLY PHOTOGRAPH OF EMILY DICKINSON, AMERICAN POET (2023), TRAP (2025) and CONTROL (2026).

The films have screened widely on television and at film festivals around the world, have won numerous awards, and are often shown in retrospectives. His book Life in Death: My Animated Films 1976-2020 was published by Taylor and Francis/CRC Press in 2022.
