We've got some BIG news on the WA Screen Culture Awards - and that news is that this fantastic event is moving from its December dates to be integrated into the July film festival.
Not only will it represent another major festival event which is already packed with films, special event, parties and networking events and professional development opportunties, but it puts local achivements in moving image into an international context.
The WA Screen Culture Awards acknowledges and celebrates innovation and achievement in the Western Australian screen sector acros all its forms including traditional narrative forms, experimental films, animation, games and immersive, gallery-based installations. Across 23 awards, it also (of course) features an already famous afterparty in what is the biggest gathering of the local screen sector on the calendar.
This year we'll also be running a public screening program of some of the nominees plus a series of talks and panels designed to examine the local screen sector and some of the practitioners working in it.
Taking place on Friday July 17th 2026, entries open on Janurary 12th so join our subscriber list and you'll know when things are happening as soon as they happen.
