In the lead up to the event, we liaise directly with all sectors of the industry in ensuring we're covering as much ground as we can in acknowledging the work done across the entire sector. From that, the WA Screen Culture Awards are distilled into 23 awards across two categories: Innovation and Achievement. We also have two special awards for outstanding contributions and adventurous approaches to the screen industry in WA.
Entries for the WASCAs need to have been produced since November 1st, 2024, and either be wholly WA produced or have a primary production contingent based in WA...and we'd love to see yours.
Some nominations may be included in a series of screening programs with producer permissions, and those screen artists will have the opportunity to present and discuss their works at screenings during the festival proper.
Entries close on May 10th so there's lots of time, but nominated or not, it's a brilliant evening for the entire sector and for film lovers of all walks.
The awards event will take place during the July 8-19th film festivsl.
