Tianpei Hu

TIANPEI founded Dust Film in Hong Kong in 2023, later gathering a few friends from Singapore and Malaysia. Together, they formed a seven-person guerrilla film crew, moving through Asia’s mountains, forests, and cities. The director and Dust Film are committed to telling deeply rooted Asian stories with honesty and vitality. Their settings stretch from the red-light districts of Kuala Lumpur and the crowded streets of Ho Chi Minh City to the neon nights of Shanghai.

Dust Film releases one Asian feature each year, working independently and outside conventional systems. Traveling lightly across the region, the collective creates ambitious cinema on minimal means, searching for new stories within the landscapes and lives of contemporary Asia.
