
Dr Joshua Belinfante is an award-winning filmmaker, educator and admitted NSW solicitor whose work has screened internationally, broadcast on ABC, SBS, Discovery, National Geographic and Foxtel, and featured at more than 20 film festivals. His credits include Hawke: The Larrikin & The Leader, The Mosque Next Door, Miriam Margolyes: Almost Australian and Debi Marshall Investigates: Frozen Lies, alongside commercial work for clients including Adobe, Sonos, Seiko and Camus Cognac. Joshua has taught filmmaking at institutions including NIDA, UTS, USYD and the New York Film Academy, and his films have won awards in Australia, Europe, Asia and the United States. He was selected for Werner Herzog’s filmmaking accelerators in 2020 and 2024, creating new work under the guidance of Herzog and cinematographer Peter Zeitlinger, and in 2025 was one of 24 filmmakers worldwide mentored by Academy Award-winning director Asghar Farhadi in Bologna. Joshua holds a BA Communications (MAP)/LLB from UTS, completed a PhD in Media Arts in 2024, and continues to work across documentary, fiction and experimental filmmaking. Joshua’s debut feature documentary ‘The World’s Best Film’ screened at Revelation several years ago.
