Details

Saturday 11th July, 11am at
SAE Northbridge.

Maverick Horror, bad taste Film maker of thirty years, Murder City’s, Dick Dale will finally face the court, explaining how he did it, ‘his way’ . Writing, Directing and reluctantly Producing his first Independent Feature film, Ribspreader. 'Ribspreader is Australia’s first, ‘Splatterpunk Video nasty''.
No film school, no studio backing, self taught, and with a lot of help from his friends.
Dick will answer your questions and regale tales of pain and suffering, luck, madness and mayhem.
He’ll discuss how they raised funds, filmed it through a World plague, mental breakdowns, lack of budget, problem solving and pure determination.
Ribspreader contains oodles of practical effects, miniatures, a puppet, famous celebrities and more than a few buckets of gore. He’ll go through the process of how those were done, Practical! Minimum VFX. NO A.I. Slop!
The talk will be accompanied by rare behind the scenes pictures and videos. Questions will be answered in person!
It is not necessary to have watched the film previously. The session will contain spoilers and traces of ‘nuts’ though. This wont destroy your viewing experience should you decide to ever undertake that mission.
Dick Dale is also the founder of the infamous Trasharama Film Program. The undisputed nastiest short horror and bad taste short Film Program in Australia. Established in 1997. Screening later that day.
