In the 1930s, a penniless Jewish doctor immigrates to the US from Poland. He assimilates into whiteness and achieves the American Dream: a career, a house, a wife, and a beautiful daughter — born on the Fourth of July. 50 years of home movies shot across three generations of his family are assembled by Fire-Toolz and Henry Hanson.

Originally commissioned by the Chicago Film Archives for their annual Media Mixer project, in which a filmmaker and a musician are paired together to make new experimental work out of a donated collection of shot-on-film home movies.
