The Boys Who Said No!

July 2 4:15 pm

Feature Documentary | 2020 | USA | 90 min | Directed by Judith Ehrlich | Antidote Films

An inspirational story of courage and protest, The Boys Who Said NO! tells the story of the young men who refused to fight in the war in Vietnam, forming the largest war resistance movement in US history.

Defying laws and burning their draft cards, these young men risked five years in federal prison for their actions.

Director Judith Enrlich’s documentary is the first to tell their stories.

Exploring the power and passion of the protestors, the film juxtaposes archive footage of the antiwar movement with contemporary interviews, creating a powerful and evocative work.

For anyone who watched The Trial of the Chicago 7, this film offers the history of the protest movement of the era.

With appearances from numerous activists and draft resisters, including Joan Baez, and David Harris, The Boys Who Said NO! is essential viewing for anyone interested in twentieth century history and politics, and the true power of activism.

Director Enrlich was Oscar nominated for her role as co-producer and co-director of The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers.

Screens with the short film Pebble.
