Tenement tells the story of Japanese-Cambodian manga artist Soriya who, alongside her boyfriend, returns to her childhood home in Cambodia after her mother’s death.

Searching for inspiration for a new book as well as thinking about her family, Cambodia seems to offer what she needs…. but what ensues is something far darker.

This remarkable horror movie, set in a run-down Cambodian housing block, should have everybody suitably unsettled.

Tenement is an unexpected horror movie.

Seen by some as a response to generational trauma and the country’s political past, Tenement is both fascinating and unnerving.
