Brief info
“As a celebrity, fashion and portrait photographer, the question I get asked most is ‘Who is the most famous/memorable person you have worked with?’ And for that, there can only be one answer, Sophia Loren. No contest.”
Jason Capobianco is an Australian born photographer most noted for his crafted cinematic style of storytelling; a language he adapted as a child watching his father - an architect - creating graceful form out of empty space.
His high-fashion focus, bringing together a combination of bold colour, sophisticated light and tangible emotion has lead him to create work for some of the world’s biggest brands and publishers including Vogue, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Net-a-Porter, Dom Perignon, Van Cleef & Arpels, Clinique, Sotheby’s, Lane Crawford and Levi’s - photographing the world’s leading talent - Cate Blanchett, Sophia Loren, Gemma Chan, Judy Davis, Justin Bieber as well as Asia’s superstars Chow Yun Fat, Aaron Kwok and Tang Wei and Fan Bing Bing and Angela Baby.
In parallel to this, Jason has worked with some of Australia’s leading artists, directing, and producing a series of documentaries for the Australian Wildlife Conservancy as part of their artist collaboration series, on reducing wildlife extinction in Australia.
He has spent the previous decade based in Hong Kong, working in China and the APAC region as part of its ongoing creative boom.
He currently lives in Perth with his wife Grace Lam and son.
