In the vast barren wilderness of the American Midwest, in the 19thcentury, in a small lonely wooden farmhouse, Lizzy (Caitlin Gerard, Insidious: The Last Key) and her husband, Issac (Ashley Zukerman, Fear the Walking Dead) are trying to establish a new life. But in the vast wilderness the wind never seems to stop and something seems somehow off to Lizzy. When a young couple, Emma and Gideon Harper (Julia Goldani Telles, Slender Man and Dylan McTee, Roswell, New Mexico), arrive at a nearby homestead the empty loneliness of their existence looks like it may be at an end, but other factors seem to be at play.
Emma Tammi’s stylish re-imagining of the western adds a gothic feel to the genre, creating a powerful debut narrative feature. Beautifully shot and designed, with an emphasis on atmosphere, The Windis a powerful film that gives a new energy to the classic genre.
“The story is simple, but The Wind becomes a tour de force of Tammi’s carefully composed images and a stunning central performance by Gerard, who can carry a movie simply with her face as the dread mounts.”– San Francisco Chronicle
