Facing increasing kaiju (giant monster) attacks in Japan, the top-secret S-Class Species Protocol is established.

But then an attack by Neronga is thwarted by a giant silver costumed figure from space; Ultraman!

What follows takes the energy of the cult Japanese superhero series, mixes it with truly entertaining giant monsters, aliens, and much more, and crafts an exciting kaiju superhero sci-fi fantasy.

Like director Higuchi’s Shin Godzilla’s (2016) reworking of the titular kaiju, Shin Ultraman reimagines the genre and the original 1966 TV series with a joyous appreciation of the material and a true sense of fun. 

Winning awards at the Japan Academy Film Prize for cinematography, lighting direction, art direction, and with cast member Daiki Arioka winning the best newcomer award, Shin Ultraman offers truly action-packed excitement.
