PERTH PREMIERE
There’s something truly magical about Nam June Paik, his artworks – in performance, music, sculpture and, most famously, video – are always inspiring, his imagination seemingly limitless.
Few artists saw the way in which television would shape the future with the nuance of Paik.
Known for coining the term “Electronic Superhighway” and as the father of video art, he was a key figure in the avant-garde of the 20th century.
First time documentary filmmaker Amanda Kim’s film, which includes some great archive footage of Paik’s often beautiful works, is fascinating and essential viewing for both those who are familiar with Paik and those seeing it for the first time.
Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival 2023
