The latest edition of Cult Projections has reviewed Shut Up Little Man for Rev and says this:
"Matthew Bate has fashioned a superbly entertaining, and surprisingly poignant documentary. Using a cut-and-paste visual style, recreations, and posing intelligent questions about morality and exploitation, pop-culture, fame and infamy, and the true nature of art, Shut Up Little Man! is more than a document of a curious midadventure, it’s a wonderful date stamp for pre-Internet"

The latest posting of Horrorphile contains a very comprehensive review of Outrage for Rev. It says:
"Takeshi “Beat” Kitano designed Outrage as a movie for the fans, to entertain those who admired his signature ice-cool deadpan style combined with organised crime and extreme violence, but also to make something commercially successful"

In the July 6th edition of XPress has a great interview with Rev program director Jack Sargeant and the amount of films he has to watch. Poor, poor Jack.

Rev guest and critic David Stratton gives Meek's Cutoff four stars in The Australian (July 2nd). He says of Meek's:
"the film offers rich rewards, not only in this seemingly honest portrait of pioneer life but also in an ensemble of fine, understated performances from which Williams is the stand-out."

Filmink has also been on the case since our program launch saying:
"Since its inception in 1997, Revelation has become one of Australia's fastest growing film festivals and typically collates a line-up of highly original, compelling and independent projects - the type of films you'd rarely catch at a multiplex cinema."

In the latest edition of Scoop Magazine, Rev guest Margaret Pomeranz says:
"From the very beginning of The Movie Show in 1986, we've had great support from Perth viewers. There was an obvious interest in film and film culture in Western Australia. The Revelation Perth International Film Festival arose out of enthusiasm and it has established a terrific reputation. We're looking forward to connecting with all those film lovers during the festival."
