In Chicago’s winding back streets and seemingly endless maze of alleys, two men earn a living by digging through the rubbish and dumped, unwanted goods, searching for the scrap metal which will earn them a living.
Shot fly-on-the-wall style, the award winning Scrappers tells the stories of these men and their families, following them through various tribulations as the global economy crashes and the Chicago streets fill with thick snow. Through these men, the film examines everything from the pragmatics of recycling to the crackdown on immigration, all the while telling the stories of people whose lives are rarely seen on the screen. Ultimately
Scrappers shows how people try and survive, often against all odds, and celebrates the human spirit in the face of adversity.
Limited tickets available for both the Sunday 17th & Saturday 23rd screenings.
