Sylvio is a gorilla who just wants to find his place in the everyday, human world.

While he works a dull job, in a small town, he would prefer to be playing with Herbert Herpels, his hand puppet. Through a strange turn of events Sylvio finds himself appearing on television, and his life rapidly starts to change, as he starts to discover the gorilla he really could be.

An off-beat comedy, with a comic mood that has been compared to Tim and Eric, Sylvio is the kind of low-budget slightly skewed existential movie from which cults are born.

Bonus oddity: according to the film’s credits the titular gorilla plays himself in the film.

A hilarious and touching examination of our search for fulfilment and one of those weird little movies that is worth seeking out.Screen Anarchy
