When hearing that the Sex Pistols were going to be touring America one-time porn director and then budding documentary filmmaker Lech Kowalski grabbed his camera and hit the road in the tour and made one of the best documents of the punk movement you'll find.

Kowalski's film is a breathless ride through the UK and US punk scene, shot as it happened, when it happened. It's a true document as it swings from the bleak streets of London and surrounding housing projects to rehearsal-room basements, clubs and pubs, hotel rooms and to the streets of the US.

Whilst containing some of the best footage of the Pistols you'll see, the film also captures many other punk bands in action as well as the famous interview with Sid and Nancy in the Chelsea Hotel in its original form and context.

Kowalski's camera captures in performance or in person Sid and Nancy, the Pistols, X-Ray Specs, The Dead Boys, Generation X, Sham 69, The Clash, The Rich Kids, all manner of people in suits talking about the destruction of culture and way, way more.

It's an absolute classic of the documentary form - music or otherwise.
