The Go-Betweens are an Australian legend. Emerging from the conservative streets of Brisbane during the punk explosion of the seventies, the duo of Robert Forster and Grant McLennan rapidly defined their own unique musical sound. Joined by drummer Lindy Morrison the band became unstoppable.
Using archive, interviews with band members, fellow musicians, and associates, the film tells the story of one of the best loved and visionary of Australian bands.
Fellow Queenslander Kriv (Boxing Day, Red Dog) Stenders creates the perfect visual language for the band, creating a movie that matches the aural palette of the band. Fans of Stenders and the Go-Betweens will recall that the director also worked on the band’s single Streets of Your Town.
With this documentary, Stender’s has returned home.
