erin coates

Erin is a Perth-based creative producer and artist, and currently Special Projects Coordinator at Fremantle Arts Centre. She has curated exhibitions in both institutional and independent spaces, including staging a number of screen-based projects in disused urban sites.

Other exhibitions include; Light Geist, Fremantle Arts Centre (2016); Rumblestrip, a night-one exhibition in an abandoned car park in Perth (2016); We don’t need a map: a Martu experience of the Western Desert,  Fremantle Arts Centre (2012), then touring nationally (2014-2016); The Cars That Ate Perth, Spectrum Project Space (2013);

In her own practice, Coates uses video, installation and drawing and her work is shown in both galleries and film festivals. Her artwork was included in the major survey exhibition The National: New Australian Art, held across the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), Carriageworks and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) in 2017. Coates has shown films in several Revelation Perth International Film Festivals and presented at the Revelation Academic Conference.
