In response to an ongoing need to encourage open academic discussion platforms and creative argument, Revelation is proud to announce RevCon Academic.
The reaction to our 2012 Academic component was so encouraging and interesting that we're pleased to announce a Call for Papers for the 2013 edition.
Revelation is Australia's only international film festival to host and encourage academic discussion alongside its screening program and we look forward to taking its discoveries to audiences around the country and world. It represents an important platform in film discussion and analysis in this country.
Taking place on Thursday July 11th and Friday July 12th - RevCon Academic will draw local, national and international academics to discuss and analyse issues such as:
Abstracts for papers should be no more than 200 words long, please also include academic and / or professional affiliations. We will also accept papers from independent researchers. Don't forget to include full contact details on your submission.
Papers accepted for the conference should be no longer than 20 minutes in length.
A selection of papers from 2012 event will be published in Scan Journal of Media and Arts and Culture - a special initiative from Sydney's Macquarie University.shortly, and a link will be posted on Revelation's monthly Enews.
Registrations are $100 and include a 6 film festival mini-pass and a light lunch on both days.
